Courses and workshops
Beginners Digital Landscape Photo Safaris in the Peak District National Park

A sunny Sunday afternoon on The Roaches
Get to know your camera better on a one-to-one or
small-group course, either one-day or two-day courses and over a weekend if you prefer, in one of the
country's best-loved areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Courses include tuition in photographic techniques and digital workflow, in-course transport and packed lunches. The price does not include accommodation although there's plenty of local accommodation to suit all pockets and we're happy to make suggestions.
'Easy' courses
where we don't wander too far away from the car and 'Tricky' courses
where we get out into some wild places. Chris is a trained Walking
Group Leader and has extensive knowledge through 20 years experience
walking in the Peak District. And you'll go away with an A3 print of your favourite shot from the course.
Alternatively, if you're interested in working
with Chris on your photography but are looking more for a holiday
rather than simply tuition then you might consider looking at Skylark Holidays or Field Breaks, on whose behalf Chris delivers the tuition on Landscape Photography holidays. If you really fancy an exotic break with your camera then what about Menorca Singles Holidays ? Chris also delivers Photography courses on their behalf. STOP PRESS ....
John and Carolyn on Menorca currently have a very limited number of places remaining on this October's photography holiday, 8th-15th Oct. It's a generous package and you will be well looked after by them and me. The price is £749. Have a look at their web site to see what's on offer. If you've not been to Menorca before then you're in for treat. It's a beautiful little island. The whole place is a biosphere reserve. It's understated, quiet and stunning as well as really easy to get to. I hope to see you there.
Gift certificates for courses are available for purchase through the Gallery and on-line shop Alternatively, have a look at Chris's Wildflower Photography workshops if you would prefer something that usually involves a little less walking

We all came way much more capable with both our cameras and our artistic eyes.
The day hit just the right balance of instruction and participation, of theory
and practise and was great fun from beginning to end ( Ian, his brother Kieth and thier Dad Colin and myself spent a day together in August coping with some tricky weather !)

'My wife her friend Rhona got me and Mark the Photo Safari in the Peaks for
Christmas. We set it up for a weekend in August and it was a thoroughly
enjoyable experience.
Both days started out with a weather briefing and an explanation of what we
were going to be doing for the day and where we were going to be going. The
locations we went to were absolutely incredible. The first day we went to Black
Clough. It was pouring rain but that did nothing to make it anything less than
amazing. The second day we went to The Roaches which was my favorite
location. The entire time with Chris, I learned about how to get the most out of my
camera by using the manual settings, how to compose the picture and
understanding the relationship between shutter speed, f-stop and ISO. It was
very much a course in becoming confident with your camera. I would highly recommend going on the Photo Safari with Chris and Raven's
Eye Gallery if you're new to photography or want to get the most out of your
camera as possible. It was an experience I would happily go on again'

'I
had a wonderful time on my weekend safari. Chris is a fantastic
teacher and
was quick to teach me lots of things about my camera and tricks on
taking
beautiful photographs. He made me think in different ways of how to
achieve
great pictures. Have already recommended to friends that they should
come to
the Peak district for a course !!' - Katy Street
